How often is recommended to clean the skin?

width="280"In principle, strangely enough, a weekly lather sufficient to maintain a clean and healthy skin. The genital area, hands, armpits, etc. need extra hygiene.

It is obvious that each individual feels his own need for hygiene and there are no rules for this (depends on physical activity, personal characteristics, culture, etc.).

As important as the lather is a good rinse, then alkaline soap residue and dry out the skin. The bathrooms too hot and too long can damage the skin, it is recommended to shower for the adult or older child and warm baths and under 15 minutes for babies and toddlers.

How should I care for the newborn’s skin?

A healthy newborn requires special care, but not too specific. In the following the most relevant:

* Avoid heat loss, shelter the child (not too much common sense), enough for it. Avoid extreme temperatures and clothing fibers. Are preferred cottons and linen for areas in contact with the skin.
* Care of the umbilical region is important in the early days of life, the remains are mummified umbilical cord and fall in 7-10 days. Follow the advice of the doctor or midwife, experience and crafts will help you forever.
* The bathroom can be done from the first day. A short bath, warm enough for baby’s health and to strengthen the bond. The bathroom should be a celebration with the participation of the whole family father, mother (if not too tired) and el-siblings, if any. A tip: the children they care for or assist in the care of their younger siblings often live better that terrible jealousy
The soap chosen should be one syndet, a bath oil or oatmeal gel, so they are less irritating and more physiological. (more…)
