We give some suggestions for making sandwiches more nutritious:
- Use meat with low fat content. You can use them for a sandwich or just cut some strips on their ensalsada. Always buy lean meats like turkey, chicken or fish.
- Fill pita bread with vegetables, fat-free cheese and bits of roast chicken.
- Cut vegetables such as onions, carrots, celery and green peppers and add to tuna salad. Mix the tuna with vegetables and fat-free mayonnaise to make it taste different.
- Combine chicken pieces with light mayonnaise, raisins, shredded carrots and almonds. They will make a great chicken salad. Serve in pita bread.
- A low-fat cheese with tomato slices and mustard or mayonnaise on a roll may also be a good option.
- You can use leftover meat from pork and cover with sauce to make a sandwich hot or cold.
- Make sandwiches cream cheese and served with carrot and celery raw.
Also, remember that fruits, vegetables, whole grains and dairy products low or fat are also good snacks for children.
